The Mummy
On ITV1 today at 4.50pm
Clearly riding on the back of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which hit our UK cinemas on Wednesday, this 1999 movie – the first film in the franchise – is showing on ITV1 today. Since rain is forecast, I’d say that this lavish adventure yarn (with traditionally Egyptian mummies rather than Chinese ones) offers the perfect escapism from the dark clouds, and the Olympics for that matter.
I, however, won’t be watching it as I’m going out. You may remember that last weekend I watched all manner of crazy characters getting hitched on UKTV Gold, well this Saturday I’m off to watch two friends getting hitched in real life. Nevertheless, I suspect I’ll still get to see a few mummies today, what do you think?
