On Sky Movies Premiere tonight at 10.10pm and tomorrow night at 8pm
Finally I get to see this celebrated film. Considering how many award nominations and wins this movie has received, it’s almost embarrassing that I haven’t seen it yet. Mind you, I’ve probably been put off slightly by the inexplicably extreme Keira Knightley adoration that has surrounded it.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike the girl and I agree that she’s a good actress. I just don’t understand why she’s rated so highly for her looks when there are other far more gorgeous actresses out there. She’s certainly not unattractive, but why on earth is she considered to be so beautiful by so many people? She has a pretty face, yes, but her body is straight up and down and skinny, like a teenage boy’s. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and who am I to judge.
Anyway, I’m really looking forward to this movie. I do hope I’m not disappointed. I understand that there’s a big twist in the tale that if revealed would spoil the film, so I’ve deliberately avoided reading too much about it.
