What is it about monkeys? Everyone loves them, especially monkeys in the movies. I did a search on the internet and came across site after site dedicated to the creatures. Click here to view an extremely comprehensive list of monkey movies, although be warned that it only goes up to 2003, which means that tonight’s spectacular movie doesn’t feature on the list

King Kong

The original 1933 King Kong is described as “the granddaddy of all monkey movies”, which means that tonight’s 2005 visual effects–packed remake by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson has a lot to live up to. I don’t think there’s any need to worry though – the movie won three Oscars and a BAFTA and is celebrated among critics for being a masterpiece.

By the way, the jungle drums tell me that there might be some more monster movies this week, so if you like the genre, be sure to come back.
