I know people who love this movie, but personally I struggle with it.

I’m not sure exactly what it is that doesn’t work for me.

John Turturro, George Clooney, Tim Blake Nelson

Some people might have a problem with the bluegrass music that features throughout, but I love bluegrass music, so it’s not that. Some people might struggle with the strong southern accents, but I love the American South, so it’s not that either. And, having studied Homer’s Odyssey at school I can actually enjoy spotting the film’s parallels with that text, unlike many people I know who haven’t read it.

But, whether it’s the sepia-tinted look of the movie that turns me off or simply the disjointed feel, something just leaves me cold. Am I alone in this, or is there anyone else out there who feels the same way?
