Couch Potato Pickings: Regeneration

On BBC4 tonight at 11.45pm

I feel compelled to watch tonight’s film about shell-shocked British soldiers being treated in a sanitarium during World War One. Hard-hitting and deeply moving, it’s based on the powerful novel by Pat Barker.

On Tuesday it’ll be the 90th anniversary of the end of World War One and a day for remembrance and reflection. That’s why I’m going to watch this film tonight because if anything’s going to bring home the reality of war, it’s this emotionally shattering movie.
