Couch Potato Pickings
Hugh Grant is brilliant in this comedy drama as Will, a hedonistic single man who finds himself involved in the lives of socially awkward 12-year-old Marcus (Nicholas Hoult) and his suicidal mother Fiona (Toni Collette).
With his uncool clothes, his veggie diet and his penchant for singing his mother’s favourite song, it’s not surprising that this kid gets teased at school for being different.
Did you remember the kid who came in with lentil bake when everyone else had marmite sandwiches? We all had a misfit like Marcus at school.
Or maybe you were the social misfit at school. I can’t deny that I was a bit like Marcus when I was that age.
