As Mira Sorvino‘s character Romy says in this movie, “in high school everybody made somebody’s life hell.” So it’s a wonder why  people love to hold high school reunions.

Fortunately for me, my school never had such an event, as far as I know anyway. However, when I first saw this film back in the late 1990s, I did think it would be kind of fun to be a fly on the wall at a school reunion, just to see how all my classmates had turned out.

And now I can. Thanks to social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace, we can all have virtual school reunions – far less traumatic, easy to ignore the people we really can’t face, AND how easy to do a Romy and Michele and invent glamorous new lives for ourselves, as well as glamorous looks with a little help from photoshop.

However, one thing you can’t get in in cyberspace is reunion moments like these:
