The man just won’t stay out of the headlines!
If you haven’t heard by now, Christian Bale has proved (yet again) that he has a bit of a temper. A recording has been leaked (from last year) of the actor going off on a four-minute expletive rant on the set of Terminator: Salvation when cinematographer Shane Hurlbut disrupted a scene.
Listen to the recording here, but be warned – it contains almost nothing but swear words. Honestly, he’s worse than Al f***ing Pacino!
I couldn’t stop laughing at Bale’s over-the-top reaction but I guess it would feel different if one was in the firing line. The incident has started great debate in the media about what’s acceptable behaviour in a workplace and whether it’s alright (even normal) for ‘creative people’ to have tantrums. Others have gone one step further and allowed the tirade to inspire them, musically (warning: more Al Pacino-esque language).
While Christian considers some anger management sessions Twilight has been in the news again. Here’s what I’ve learned:
1. Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is writing a book documenting how the teen vampire movie was made. Read more

3. The casting rumours continue for the Twilight sequel New Moon. The latest being that 90210 star Annalynne McCord will join the cast as Heidi. McCord’s boyfriend and 90210 co-star Kellan Lutz is already on board. Read more
Speaking of sequels, I shrieked with delight when I heard this week that Sex and the City 2 is really happening! Yep, all the girls have signed on the dotted line and shooting is planned to begin this summer. But first Michael Patrick King has to sit down and write the script. Let’s hope he feels as inspired as he did when he wrote the first one. This could go either way, but I’m hoping the result is entertaining. We’ll have to wait until 2010 to find out.
It’s not long to go before Oscar night and organisers are promising one hell of a show. At the annual Oscar nominees luncheon at the Beverly Hilton, AMPA President Sid Ganis said that this year’s show would be ‘bold’ and risky’, and he told the nominees to ‘stay alert’ as there were many ‘surprises’ ahead.
The producers are desperate to up their ratings after several years of declining interest. I am very interested, especially since Hugh Jackman [swoon] will be hosting the ceremony, but I am one of many people who do not have access to the correct channel so I will have to make do with what I can find on the internet.
They tied up all the ends in SATC 1 so it’s difficult to imagine what would happen in a sequel, but here’s my fantasy synopsis:
The four friends find themselves followed around by a stylish woman in her twenties who has moved to New York from San Francisco. It turns out she’s a popular columnist who writes about sex and relationships in her city – but sex with women, not men.
Following a big bust up with her ex, this writer has decided to try and make a new life for herself in the big apple and keeps turning up in all the same places as Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha. After getting to know her a little, the four friends come to the conclusion that she idolises Carrie and perhaps has a bit of a crush on her. Finding this amusing, sex-mad Samantha decides it might be fun to have a go at seducing their stalker and invites her to a big party she is hosting. However, she gets a massive shock when her passes are knocked back by the girl who then reveals to her the real reason why she’s in New York – to meet the woman who gave birth to her and gave her up for adoption 27 years previously, Carrie Bradshaw.
