This Oscar-winning Woody Allen movie is all about the tangled emotional lives of three Manhattan sisters, and one of its great scenes is when architect David (Sam Waterston) takes friends Holly (Dianne Wiest) and April (Carrie Fisher) on a tour of his favourite buildings in New York.
Exchanging views about the buildings that you love in your neighbourhood has to be a top first date conversation, so if you’re single and looking for love, perhaps you should give some thought to which buildings you rate in your town or city.
Living in London, I’m rather spoilt for choice, but I’d have to name the art deco Hoover Building out in West London, and that icon of central London – Tower Bridge – as my personal favourites.
