Back in the 1970s, director Pete Walker was responsible for some of Britain’s bloodiest horror films, and single-handedly kept a dying UK film industry afloat with grisly psycho-chillers like House of Whipcord, The Comeback and the like.
Making a rare personal appearance, Walker will be doing a Q&A at London’s BFI Southbank on Thursday 12 March, in which there’s also a chance to catch one of his most shocking films, Frightmare, starring Walker’s favourite mistress of the dark, Sheila Keith.
But that’s not all. After the Q&A, there’s an extremely rare chance to see his final film, the underrated tongue-in-cheek whodunnit, House of the Long Shadows, which teams veteran horror stars Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price and John Carradine.
