Couch Potato’s News Flash – Big Movie Director Backs Local Cinema Campaign

Do you remember my recent post about the importance of a local cinema, where I told you about the campaign launched in  Crystal Palace, my South East London neighbourhood, to petition for a local moviehouse?

Well, since I last posted about this, not only has the total number of local residents behind the campaign increased to 4,840, but we’ve also had celebrity support from Pixie Lott, The Saturdays, VV Brown and Hollywood.

Yes, that’s right – Hollywood. Spike Jonze, director of Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, has now added his support to the campaign.

In his words… “Give Crystal Palace a Cinema or we’ll all end up watching movies in the mall. What a bummer.”
