Trailer Trash – Nine

You wait for one Academy Award winner to come along, and then six come along at once – in the same film. Typical!

It’s taken a musical extravaganza starring no less than Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz and Sophia Loren, plus Golden Globe Award winner Kate Hudson and Grammy Award nominated Stacy Ferguson (ie. Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie) to rouse Trailer Trash from its slumber. Check out the trailer for Nine and be roused, too…

Directed by Chicago helmer Rob Marshall, Nine follows middle-aged director Guido Contini (Day-Lewis) as he struggles to complete his latest film while balancing the numerous women in his life, including his wife (Cotillard), his mistress (Cruz), his film star muse (Kidman), his confidante and costume designer (Dench), an American fashion journalist (Hudson), a prostitute from his youth (Ferguson), and his mother (Loren).

Based on the hit Broadway musical of the same name, it’s almost impossible not to be seduced by Nine’s sumptuous sets, seductive choreography, glitzy cast, and gutsy, busty trailer. Be Italian!

Nine is released on 18 December 2009.
