Directing the Harry Potter series has clearly rubbed off on Chris Columbus.
The tale of Percy Jackson, (no hidden pun), is yet another adapted fiction where a teenage boy has greatness thrust upon him. But it doesn't stop here, as Percy emerges as a truly inspired character, with a complex and contemporary back-story to boot. Fully 3-D rounded, he learns to come to terms with an absent father, whilst less realistically discovering his half-god heritage.

Both engaging and fast-paced, this movie boasts Classic origins for the Greek-studying scholars, cheap thrills for the action adorers and a dash of romance for the Austen-readers, a highly recommended movie all round, enjoy.
