Awards Season | 2010 Oscar nominations announced

This year’s Oscar nominations have just been announced. Avatar and The Hurt Locker – directed by ex-spouses James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow respectively – lead the field with nine nominations each; while Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds is just behind on eight. Meryl Streep gains a record-breaking 16th nomination and there are nominations too for Brits Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan and Colin Firth.
