Based on a story from Stephen King’s Nightmares & Dreamscapes short story collection comes Dolan’s Cadillac, a riveting revenge drama starring Christian Slater, which gets its DVD and Blu-ray release on 12 April.
American Beauty actor Wes Bentley plays Robinson, a Las Vegas-based teacher whose everyday life with wife Elizabeth (Emmanuelle Vaugier) is changed forever when she witnesses the execution of a truck full of illegal immigrants at the hands of crime lord Jimmy Dolan (Slater) – who watches his handiwork from the protection of his SUV (the Cadillac of the film’s title).
Despite being placed under witness protection, Elizabeth is assassinated (now that was a shock) and when it looks like Dolan has totally escaped justice, Robinson sinks into a terrible depression. But then he puts his terrible, fantastic revenge into action.
Bentley gives a powerhouse performance as the grief-stricken husband, while Slater is in top form as the egocentric Dolan, whose rants should be remembered forever – just like the film’s unexpected, unforgettable climax.
