Now Alesha is calling the show a two-horse race between Chelsee and Harry and since Jason’s been in the bottom two it’s difficult to disagree.

For me the only way he can win is by pulling out all the stops on the showdance, which can make or break a couple – think Tom Chambers’ fanastic Fred Astaire-inspired routine and Colin Jackson’s disastrous puppet finale.

Meanwhile, Jason just seems happy to have made it to the final.

‘It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I feel like I’ve aged. I’d love to see a picture of me on day one of the competition and a picture of me now,’ he laughed at yesterday’s press conference.

‘The anxiety levels have been huge but we’re all winners.’

How sympathetic then, that Brrrrrrrruuuuuno ‘Mr Subtle’ Tonioli rubbed salt in the wound the other day by popping into his X Factor USA dressing room to gloat, while filming Dancing with the Stars.

“I said it to his face!’ says Brrrrrruuuuno. ‘I said (with a big grin), ‘Hello!’ Simon’s fuming! But he, like anybody, wants to do the best job possible.’

Now now, Brrruuuunnno, I’m sure Simon would be much nicer if Strictly was struggling with the ratings. On second thoughts…

Alex is thriving despite her boyfriend's critiques

Not only does Alex have the four judges, competitive James Jordan and her friend, former contestant Matt Baker, to contend with, her other half, Charlie, is chipping in critiques too!

‘He is very honest and will say ‘I don’t think it is your dance’. I think he fancies himself as a judge!’ she says.

‘It’s more difficult on the partners than it is for us but he’s brilliant about it, maybe because we hadn’t been together very long before it started.’

Alex is proving a dark horse in the competition as she, Chelsee and Harry are the only celebs who have so far dodged the bottom two. Maybe she’s making the most of all that constructive criticism!

Tough talking Craig

They’ve been sparring with each other since the beginning of the series and now Craig and James’ spat has reached new levels of bitchiness after James accused Craig of undermarking Alex’s Charleston.

Craig told Zoe on It Takes Two, ‘The competition is getting tougher and I’m getting tougher.

‘James… please, get a life.’

James didn’t let Craig have the last word, responding to his remarks on twitter.

‘Harsh!’ he wrote. ‘Shame he seems to be taking it out on Alex who is lovely! Unprofessional! I didn’t want to get so angry about the scores, but [Alex] means so much to me now!’

Come on boys, can’t you just be friends?
