Fern and Prince Charles for Strictly?

After her jive with Matthew Cutler on last year’s Christmas special, Fern Britton has told Woman’s Own she’d like to compete in next year’s main series.

‘I would definitely love to do it,’ she said. ‘It has always clashed with my charity bike ride but next year the ride is taking place in the spring, so I’ve certainly got the time.

‘Doing Strictly is amazing. It makes you feel life is wonderful. When people say they feel sad after getting kicked out, it’s true.’

Meanwhile, host Tess Daly has royalty in her sights, hoping that Prince Charles will join Fern in next year’s line-up.

‘He’s told me he’s a huge dancing fan and loves the show… and has always wanted to tango,’ she said. Dream on, Tess!

Who will be in the bottom two? And who’s going to miss out on next week’s movie themed extravaganza? It’s a close call tonight. Holly and Anita are the only remaining contestants ever to have been in the danger zone – does that mean they’re in trouble or are we due a shock exit? Join me here to find out and remember to tell me who you think should go – you could win a TV Times mug!

19.59 Awww bye bye Anita – I’ll miss her enthusiasm! Did she deserve to go? Don’t forget to let me know what you think below!

19.57 Poor Brrrrruuuunnno looks more upset than Anita! Robin’s on the phone – such a shame he couldn’t be there for Anita’s last dance.

19.56 Anita’s going home – she’ll be missed but maybe it was her time to go. Sad!

19.54 Aww both Holly and Anita look quite resigned… I don’t want anybody to go!

19.53 They make it look so easy and effortless! How lovely to see Anton getting the chance to shine, rather than being stuck with Nancy or Ann!

19.51 Here come Anton and Erin! They are one class act…

19.50 More results and they’re looking nervous. Alex is safe – she looks very relieved! Robbie’s safe too and Anita’s back in the bottom two. She doesn’t look surprised, poor Anita…

19.48 Can’t wait for next week’s movie night! I love Jason and Holly’s Matrix skit!

19.47 Ola was not impressed to be kicked off the swingathon!

19.45 Craig’s a big fan of Chelsee’s tango. Alesha reckons Alex was undermarked…

19.44 The judges are loving Harry and they’re gutted about Holly being in the bottom two…

19.42 Haha loving Brendan’s rendition of Uptown Girl – he’s not going to live that one down any time soon!

19.41 Hooray, it’s Len’s Lens now!

19.38 Time for Cee Lo Green – I still find it annoying when pop stars bring their own backing dancers!

19.37 Chelsee’s doing a Shrek-inspired routine next week but she’s never seen it – Claudia’s planning a girls’ night in already!

19.35 Jason’s safe! But Holly’s in the bottom two. Such a shame after her brilliant performance last night. There’s a lot of worried faces up there – all of the remaining couples think they could be joining Holly in the danger zone…

19.34 The results are in. Harry is safe (no surprises there!) and Chelsee is also through.

19.33 Harry’s speechless after his three 10s – can anyone beat him?

19.32 Chelsee’s thrilled with her tango despite the judges wanting more passion and Jason’s so happy, he’s singing Chesney Hawkes!

19.31 Backstage antics now. Holly is squealing with delight after her impressive foxtrot but James is storming off without talking to anyone – he’s not happy with that 6 from Craig!

19.29 Looking forward to Anton and Erin’s Viennese waltz!

19.28 Wow, good dress Tess!

19.27 This is a very unusual pro dance from Pasha, Katya, Brendan and Natalie – I wonder who choreographed it…

19.26 Here we go!

19.21 4 minutes to go!

LIVE BLOG

Hi Strictly fans! There’ll be no Russell tonight, but we’re guaranteed lots of thrills and spills as the couples battle it out to get through to the next round. With the competition tighter than ever, I can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned. Follow the fun here and remember to let me know what you think of this evening’s performances – best comment of the night wins a TV Times mug!

20.13 That leaves Harry, Chelsee and Jason at the top of the leaderboard and Alex, Anita and Robbie at the bottom. Who’s going to be in the danger zone tonight? Who do you think deserves to leave? Let me know below and you could win a TV Times mug!

20.10 Jason’s off and now Alex and James and Chelsee and Pasha. Harry wins!

20.09 Anita and Brendan are next to go followed by Holly and Artem.

20.08 This is like that scene from Grease! Robbie and Ola are the first to go…

20.06 James and Brendan are playing dirty… Who will get those 7 points?

20.05 ‘No rules, just wow the judges’ says Len!

20.04 Here comes the swingathon – can’t wait to see this!

20.03 39 out of 40! Harry really is the one to beat…

20.02 I’ll be shocked if Alesha and Brrrrrrruuuno don’t give this a 10…

20.00 Nice touch at the end there – Harry’s forever the drummer!

19.58 Wow, Harry’s so light on his feet, this is so elegant.

19.57 They’re doing the quickstep – this could be amazing.

19.56 36 – top score of the night so far – if only he hasn’t made that mistake. Frustrating! Harry and Aliona are up next…

19.54 Wow, what energy! Another mistake though, what a shame!!

19.52 Brilliant acting, Jason – this is ace!

19.50 Sell it, Jason!

19.49 35 out of 40 – great score! Here come Jason and Kristina – fingers crossed they can make up for their Wembley slip-up

19.47 It’s a standing ovation in the studio but Len didn’t think Chelsee’s acting was good enough….very picky. Brrrruuuuuuno loved it but agrees with Len – he wants her to be badder…

19.44 They’re doing my favourite dance, the Argentine tango and they’re doing an amazing job. Well done, Chelsee!

19.41 Chelsee and Pasha time!

19.40 Brrrruuuuno thinks Robbie has a future in stripping! Eek 25 out of 40

19.38 Craig says Robbie’s fingers still look like they belong in a bowling ball… and Len’s calling it a ‘sham-ba!’

19.37 Ola’s doing most of the work tonight. Robbie’s got his legs out! Hope he’s got some earplugs for the judges’ comments!

19.36 More hip thrusting – haven’t you learned anything, Robbie?

19.35 Aww Robbie took Ola home with him. He’s a nice boy really. I really hope this samba is good!

19.33 Mrs Jordan and Robbie are next…

19.32 James is upset with Craig again… 29 out of 40. They’re not going to be top of the leaderboard this week. James is miffed.

19.31 Why is Brendan wearing a lilac jacket??

19.30 Brrrrrrruuuuuno liked seeing the funny side of Alex but Craig feels she took a major step backwards and her moves weren’t exaggerated enough. Harsh! Len enjoyed it though.

19.28 Loving this Charleston – James is showing Ola she’s not the only Jordan who can rock this dance!

19.25 Len still gave it an 8, despite his disappointment, and it’s a great total of 34. I reckon she’ll escape the bottom two tonight… James and Alex are up next

19.23 Len thought the music clashed with the dance – he wanted a traditional foxtrot…

19.22 Brrrrrrrrrrruuuuuno says it was everything he wanted from Holly and Craig thought it was fantastic!

19.21 Incidentally, Holly’s dress is amazing!

19.20 Slow but sexy, this looks good….

19.19 Holly’s going to have to up her game to avoid being in the bottom two again. She’s sick of getting the same comments – will she be motivated enough to produce something amazing tonight?

19.18 Get well soon Robin! Time for Holly and Artem…

19.17 30 out of 40 – better than I was expecting! Looking forward to the swingathon later – fighting talk from Brendan there.

19.15 Brrrrruuuuuno’s pouting at Craig!

19.14 Len thinks Anita coped well but Alesha feels she didn’t embody the dance. Brrrrrruuuuuno really enjoyed it!

19.11 Camilla seemed impressed by Anita and I love her, but this cha cha looks a bit lacklustre to me. Step it up Anita!

19.09 Ha, this is a great VT! Brendan looks fantastic in his armour!

19.07 Anita’s up first! Will be interesting to see how she gets on with Brendan…

19.06 Holly’s looking amazing in red, Harry’s very dapper tonight, Anita looks fab, Ola’s a sequin sensation and Kristina looks like she’s stepped out of the 1920s!

19.03 It’s a Strictly swingathon tonight – exciting! Interesting dress Tess, I think I like it…

19.02 Glad they’re back in the studio after Wembley.

19.00 Here we go! Two dances each tonight – can’t wait!

18.55 5 minutes to go!

18.49 Robbie has just dedicated tonight’s performance to Russell on twitter. Awww…

Harry’s in the doghouse

His steamy Argentine tango with Aliona certainly got the judges talking, and now Harry admits its got him in trouble with his girlfriend, Izzy!

‘She’s always had to deal with it with me being in a band, and she wouldn’t be with me if she didn’t trust me.

‘Izzy has been incredibly supportive, but I do need to make it up to her. I haven’t been around for eight weeks now.

‘I often get back at 10.30pm or 11pm – me and Aliona can’t work in the mornings, so we start at one or two,’ he told The Mirror.

I reckon bringing the glitterball trophy home would be a pretty good apology, Harry!

Christmas line-up revealed!

The line-up for this year’s Christmas special has been announced and there’s not a mention of John Prescott!

Unfortunately we’ll have to wait a while before we see him hot footing across the dance floor, but there’s five new celebs to keep us entertained in the meantime.

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks will be dancing with Vincent, former boxer Barry McGuigan with Erin, Blue singer Simon Webbe with Katya, impressionist Debra Stephenson with Ian Waite and actress Su Pollard with Anton.

It’s not as exciting as last year’s line-up (think John Barrowman) and I wonder how they still haven’t managed to get superfan Miranda Hart involved. Still, I can’t wait to see how Anton copes with Su!

Disaster for Anita

Poor Anita was just getting back into her stride after being in the bottom two, and now she’s being forced to change partner!

Robin Windsor has an infected foot and won’t be able to dance at the weekend, leaving Anita without her Bobby (that’s what all his friends call him, apparently).

Happy to play the dashing hero again, Brendan is stepping in to dance with her now that Artem is back on his feet.

The Brendan-Holly partnership was exciting (I think Brendan would have happily taken over till the end of the series) but Robin is such a supportive partner, I hope Anita can maintain her confidence with Strictly’s Mr Demanding…

19.50 It’s Il Divo!

19.49 Chelsee, Harry and Jason are safe. Holly’s in the bottom two – didn’t see that coming…

19.46 Wow, Harry and Aliona look fab in slo-motion…

19.44 Aww the judges should dance together more often!

Wembley LIVE BLOG

Prepare for a SCD first – Strictly is about to do Wembley! I’m so excited to see how the couples cope with performing in London’s most famous arena and I have no idea who is going to be in the bottom two tonight – it’s such a close one this year. Join me here for all the thrills and spills and remember to let me know what you think. Best comment of the weekend wins a TV Times mug!

20.13 Alex, Chelsee and Harry are at the top of the leaderboard with Anita, Robbie and Russsell trailing at the bottom. I could see Anita being in the bottom two again but no idea who will join her. Did you enjoy Wembley? Who do you think deserves to go home? Let me know below and you could win a TV Times mug!

20.11 34 – I think he deserved 36.

20.08 Such a shame – I reckon this would have been 10s if it weren’t for that mistake.

20.07 No!!!! He made a mistake, but a great recovery. He’s got so much energy!

20.06 Yes, they’re doing Wham! This looks very good to me…

20.05 Jason’s an old friend of Wembley – this should be fantastic…

20.03 35 – a fantastic score! Time for Jason – have they saved the best till last?

20.01 Great comments from the judges – ‘a proper samba’ says Len.

19.59 Hooray, Chelsee’s really into the spirit! This is really great! On the downside, this is a terrible version of Spice Up Your Life…

19.56 Time for Chelsee and my new favourite pro, Pasha

19.55 24 out of 40 but what an iconic performance1

19.54 Russell gets a kiss from Jason!

19.53 Brrrruuuuno loved it but Craig is reminded of Dumbo…. oh dear!

19.52 On a personal note I’m thrilled S Club 7 now counts as ‘Best of British’

19.51 The jive is a really demanding dance but look at him go!

19.50 What an entrance! Russell is rocketing across the stage!

19.48 34 from the judges, great score. It’s Russell time – I have no doubt this will be spectacular…

19.46 Last week they were arguing about his intensity in the tango, this week it’s his hip action in the salsa. Harry is proving divisive!

19.45 Brrrruuuuno thinks Harry is overdressed – ha!

19.44 Len still wants more from Harry…

19.43 Oooh they’re using the same music Jill and Darren used for their perfect jive. I’m loving the energy in this salsa!

19.40 Here comes Fit Harry…

19.39 Poor Anita looks disappointed with 27.

19.37 Not sparkling comments from the judges – fingers crossed people vote for her!

19.34 Anita’s got a great smile and this is a great attempt at a notoriously difficult dance…

19.33 Anita’s back in Albert Square!

19.31 31 out of 40. Not bad at all. Time for Anita. It was a travesty they were in the bottom two last week – let’s hope they can wow us all tonight…

19.28 Brrrrrrrruuuuuno feels Holly’s not fulfilling her potential – I agree…

19.27 This feels a little heavy for a quickstep. Am I being too critical or are the dancers are bit overwhelmed by being at Wembley this week?

19.26 Ooh a quickstep, hooray!

19.25 Haha loving the Brendan and Artem bromance!

19.24 I think James suddenly feels he can win. Here come Holly and ARTEM! Hooray, so glad he’s back. Bad luck, Brendan…

19.23 35! James is beside himself!

19.22 Brrrruuuuuno loved it, Len thinks it’s fabulous and Craig thinks Alex has improved!

19.20 Great music and a good go at the tango, but Alex’s head movements could be a lot sharper. I love the idea of Wembley, but the dancing feels a bit drowned in such a big space…

19.17 Yes, they’re doing a tango! My favourite dance – please don’t mess it up, Alex!

19.16 26 out of 30. I like Robbie, but I think that’s a fair score for that routine. How nice that all of the eliminated pro dancers are in Tess’ tower getting a piece of the Wembley action. Aww… Alex and James now…

19.14 Wow, that’s a long run to Tess’ tower!

19.13 As predicted, Len didn’t like it. Too much like the FA Cup final apparently… Brrrrruuuuno calls it a primeval fertility rite! Have they gone mad? Not great comments to start the show…

19.10 Wow, great jump into a lift there, Ola!

19.09 Len won’t like all this ‘messing around’ but Robbie’s definitely getting the crowd going!

19.08 Robbie’s up first with Ola in a trademark catsuit. They’re doing a salsa, this should be an excellent start to the show, especially as Robbie is no stranger to Wembley.

19.07 Martine’s building up her part – maybe she’s auditioning…

19.06 It’s a Best of British night…

19.05 Brrrrrrrruuuuuno is going to be on top form tonight, I can just tell…

19.04 Russell’s a vision in yellow, Artem’s back!, Harry’s in a crowd-pleasing open shirt, Ola’s back in the catsuit and Jason’s gone back to the Eighties…

19.03 Bruce is milking this…

19.02 Great dress, Tess!

19.01 Jason looks in his element, Robbie’s just looking for the goal…

19.00 That is a HUGE dance floor compared to the BBC studio – can’t wait to see the couples make the use of this space…

18.59 Everyone’s going mad for Queen at the moment – this is a great medley. Loving the judges doing Bohemian Rhapsody!

18.58 Wow, look at the Wembley crowds!

18.57 Haha Russell’s already got his feather boa out…

18.55 Here we go!

18.45 10 mins to go!

Tut tut Len

Len's in trouble!

First viewers were complaining about Robbie Savage’s sexy moves on the Halloween show and now Len’s in trouble for calling Craig ‘a silly little sod’.

600 (easily shocked) people complained to the BBC about his comment according to reports today.

Insiders say Len was a bit grumpy because of jetlag and Len himself has apologised.

I hope this doesn’t mean Len will be toning down his banter with Craig – we weren’t offended, Len!

John Prescott for Christmas special

We haven’t even got to Wembley yet, but thoughts are already turning to this year’s Strictly Christmas special.

Today it’s been announced that 73-year old politician John Prescott will be slipping into the sequins for some festive fun.

No word yet on the other celebs or which pro dancer will be partnering him, but I doubt he’ll be as popular as last year’s winner John Barrowman!

The BBC were hoping to get Lord Sugar involved in the show, but the Apprentice star made his feelings clear on twitter.

‘You won’t believe the email I got from the BBC the other day, are they on this planet?’ he wrote. ‘Do they think I am Robbie Savage?’

I’d love him to reconsider!
