Eleven brand new US shows we just can’t wait to see (10/11) | Burn Notice

Burn Notice - Jeffrey Donovan & Gabrielle Anwar

Starts FX, 5 October

Already well into its second season in America, the slick and stylish spy drama Burn Notice finally hits our screens here in the UK on FX next month. Greedy bunch we are here at TV Spy, we’ve already worked our way through all of the first series and can tell you that you’re in for a real explosive treat.

Let us set the scene for you. Michael Westen (played by Jeffrey Donovan) has been working dangerous undercover missions for the CIA for the past 10 years when one day, in the middle of a routine meet with the Russian mob, he finds out he has been ‘burned’. For those of you not au fait with spy-speak, this means that he has been booted out of the CIA, all his bank accounts have been frozen, none of his contacts will speak to him and he has FBI officers tailing him.

He manages to escape from the mobsters with a mild beating and now must find out who has burned him, and why. To do this, Michael has to take on some cash-in-hand private investigation work to make ends meet and teams up with former IRA terrorist ex-girlfriend Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) and washed-up former CIA operative Sam Axe (Evil Dead legend Bruce Campbell). To make matters worse, his hypochondriac mother Madeline Westen (played by Sharon Gless of Cagney and Lacey fame) is calling him 30 times a day.

Slick, stylish, exciting and funny, check out this trailer to get a taste of what’s in store. We can guarantee you’ll be back for more…
