Following its premiere on Sky Atlantic, the epic mini-series Mildred Pierce, based on the classic 1941 novel by James M Cain, is released on DVD and Blu-ray.
Kate Winslet takes the lead in the stunning five-part series that tells the story of an ambitious woman who, after divorcing her husband during the Depression, is left to care for her two young daughters. The gripping tale explores Mildred’s obsessive devotion to her gifted but cruel daughter, Veda (Evan Rachel Wood), as well as the complex relationships she shares with the men in her life: the dashing Monty Beragon (Guy Pearce), philandering ex-husband Bert (Brian F O’Byrne) and businessman Wally Burgan (James LeGros).
