Okay, so it may not have been brilliantly acted, it may have lacked snazzy CGI and it had wobbly, cheap-looking sets, but Saved By The Bell kept us highly entertained throughout the early 90s. So, whatever happened to Zack, Screech and the rest of the big-haired TV gang? You’ll be amazed…
Former pin-up Mark-Paul Gosselar, better known as Zack Morris, has been a busy bee, landing regular parts in NYPD Blue and Commander In Chief. He’s soon to be seen in FX’s surf’n'spook drama John From Cincinnati and has joined the cast of US legal series Raising The Bar.
Mario Lopez, who played A.C. Slater clearly has a thing for playing doctors. He’s filmed episodes of Nip/Tuck this year, but has also appeared as a physician in American soap The Bold And The Beautiful. Plus, of course, he came second on Dancing With The Stars back in 2006.
Besides starring in so-bad-it’s-actually-brilliant movie Showgirls, Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie) has appeared on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without A Trace and can currently be found playing the mother of Horatio’s son Kyle on CSI:Miami.
Following her role as Saved By The Bell’s Kelly, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen hooked up with Luke Perry, Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green as Valerie in Beverly Hills 90210, since when, she’s made several movies and guested in What About Brian.
Lark Voorhies who starred as cheeky Lisa has worked consistently in film and TV, including a role on The Love Boat: The Next Wave. She filmed her latest movie, The Next Hit, this year.
Wacky Screech, played by Dustin Diamond, may have made it through College Years and The New Class, but he now mainly works in film, as a stand-up comedian and appeared on Celebrity Fit Club USA. Oh, and he’s also responsible for 2006′s XXX-rated skin-flick Screeched, but the less said about that gig the better. What ever would Mr Belding say?
Hey, hey, hey, hey! Mr Belding – actor Dennis Haskins – has probably been way too occupied with his busy TV and film career to care! Next up, he’s in National Lampoon’s The Legend Of Awesomest Maximus.
The Saved By The Bell Cast (with the exceptions of Elizabeth Berkley and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) were, however, reunited earlier this year when they voiced animated versions of their SBTB characters in the episode of Robot Chicken, entitled Boo Cocky. Here’s a brilliant clip…
