Dexter sure had his hands full in last night’s episode, what with the FBI threatening to take over the Bay Harbor Butcher case, a copycat killer on his turf and the marina videos to dispose of.
But it was his domestic life that had me on the edge of my seat. Poor Dexter was left dazed and confused when the caring, sharing Rita listened in on that wicked Lila’s telephone call and dumped him – and quite rightly so.
But what really got me was the way he dealt with it. Did I spy something resembling human emotion creeping through? And telling Rita the truth about his mother’s murder was a stroke of genius. He really knows how to get himself out of the tightest of corners. Now how is he going to deal with that pesky Sergeant Doakes?
Favourite line of the night came from Dexter after having sex with his so-called sponsor Lila: ‘Which step was that?’
