Tragic beginnings… Secret identities… Part human, part mutant… Yep, Dexter was back to his bad-boy self last night in another brilliantly-written episode.
It was great to see him trying to work out whether he’s a sick monster or a valiant superhero like The Dark Defender comic character he’s inspired. The dangerously sexy Lila was along for the ride – well, every crimefighter needs a sidekick – as he tracked down one of the three men responsible for his mother’s murder.
Boy, these two make a killer couple. They remind me of Mickey and Mallory Knox in Natural Born Killers. I love Lila, even though she’s completely bonkers. Did you see the way she drooled over the blood splatter test Dexter gave her? And I’m sure there’s more to that story about her brother’s fiery death than she let on.
Favourite quote of the night: “Miami’s too hot for all that leather.”
Anyhow, this episode’s not only been nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award, it’s also spawned an on-line comic.

Love the online comics – thanks for tipping us off about them! And Lila’s great – a bit like a fire-starting Amy Winehouse.
