The now legendary Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog received its US premiere last night and Variety’s Cynthia Littleton was one of the lucky hacks there to have a gander at Joss Whedon’s supervillain musical epic.
So what can we expect? For starters, despite being a side-project for Mr Whedon, Dr. Horrible looks great, far better than your typical YouTube movie, and is totally primed for the planned DVD release. We’re also hearing that both Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible) and Nathan Fillion (Captain Hammer) are on fine form – not that we’d expect anything less.
The best news of all, though, is that a follow-up now seems to be a no-brainer, and Dr. Horrible is being seen by many as a test of how ready the viewing public is for internet-only TV events and series. We’ve only a few days left until the first instalment launches here on 15 July. Don’t miss the net event of the year!
