It’s set on a mysterious island and people with secrets keep dying – but that’s where the similarities between new US drama Harper’s Island and Lost end. Instead, think of it more as a slasher movie turned into a TV series – a weekly dose of Scream, anyone?
The pilot introduces us to a group of friends and family gathered for a wedding on a secluded island near Seattle, but the celebrations don’t last long as one of the gang is soon murdered. And they won’t be the last – we’re promised a death every week… What’s more, the island was the scene of a famous murder seven year’s previously. Could there be a link?
The biggest name in the cast is Ugly Betty’s Christopher Gorham, though worryingly he has a habit of headlining rather good shows (Popular, Jake 2.0, Odyssey 5) that get cancelled before their time. Also look out for Richard Burgi off Desperate Housewives and LA Law’s Harry Hamlin.
Harper’s Island is coming to US screens on 9 April, and can be seen in the UK on BBC3 shortly after that. Oh, and there will be the prequisiste online adventure too. We can’t wait to have a second convoluted, blood-thirsty, island-set series to follow!
is there any date on when this will be on bbc3 yet and what is the online thing?? ive seen the first 6 of this and would recommend if you like gory stuff LOL
