Be afraid, be very afraid… Introducing Heroes’s new Villains

HEROES VILLAINS

If you go down to Level 5 today, you’re in for a big surprise…

The new series of Heroes is almost upon us and, thrillingly, more and more info is leaking out by the day.

As previously reported here, much of the third series will be concerned with the various villainous former inmates of Level 5, the high-security facility The Company uses to hold people with superpowers who’ve gone bad.

The picture above (found via the excellent fansite heroestheseries.com) shows seven of the 12 villains who will be unleashed over the course of the series.

They are, from left to right:

  • The German (Ken Lally) Manipulates metal, possibly a bit like Magneto in The X-Men
  • Eric Doyle (David H. Lawrence) A puppeteer who can make people do anything he wants
  • Benjamin “Knox” Washington (Jamie Hector) The leader of the escapees, gains strength by feeding off the fears of those around him
  • Blake Shields as Flint Shoots blue flames from his hands, rumoured to be related to Claire’s firestarter mum
  • Jesse Murphy (Francis Capra) Can project concussive power through the use of his voice – the louder he shouts, the more damage he does
  • Stephen Canfield (Andre Royo) Power unknown
  • Samedi (Demetrius Grosse) Power unknown

Some of the new cast members will be familiar to British viewers: Jamie Hector and Andre Royo played Marlo Stanfield and Bubbles respectively in The Wire, Blake Shields appeared as terrorist Tommy Emerson in Sleeper Cell and Francis Capra was Eli “Weevil” Navarro in Veronica Mars, alongside fellow Heroes actress Kristen Bell (Elle Bishop).
