Try to contain your envy… We’ve just seen the first two episodes of Lost, series five!

It’s a tough old job, working at TVSpy… watching telly all day, surfing the net for the best clips and TV gossip, oh and answering the phone to PR people asking if we’d like to see previews of shows we love. We do it for you, though, loyal readers, all for you.

So yesterday we dragged ourselves off to a swanky hotel in central London for a big screen preview of the Lost series five opener, and we can promise one thing – you will NOT be disappointed!

We won’t ruin it for you by giving any big secrets away, but here are a few things you can look forward to:

sawyer tiny  Sawyer spends all but about three minutes of the whole double-bill shirtless. He’s put on a couple of pounds, but the word ‘buff’ still applies.

silhouette tiny There were shock appearances by at least two characters we didn’t think we’d ever see again.

hurley tiny Hurley’s Mum and Dad (Lillian Hurst and Cheech Marin) are still hilarious.

Ben tiny It didn’t seem possible, but Ben is even more unpredictable than ever.

marvin candle tiny Dr Marvin Candle pops up with an explanation of the Dharma Arrow station – the one that the Tailies (remember them?!) were sheltering in after the plane crash.

sun tiny Sun has transformed into the sort of woman you do not want to mess with.

desmond tiny Desmond’s ‘happy ever after’ ending with Penny is on the back burner.

kate tiny Kate is back to doing what she does best – going on the run.

locke tiny Locke’s plan to assume leadership of The Others hits a tiny snag.

jack ytiny And last, but definitely not least, Jack is showing definite signs of becoming the man with the plan again. Hurrah!

You’ll be able to see the first two episodes of Lost for yourself on Sky1 on Sunday 24 January when series five starts with a double-bill.
