   I love Mad Men. I heard that the second series is going to be set five years in future (so 1965). Is that right?

   My understanding is that the second season will open in February 1962, 14 months after the season one finale.

   Showrunner Matt Weiner has said that he plans to have a time leap between each series, and expects to be in 1968 by season five.

   cheers for that. Think i must have been getting confused with Desp Housewives, which is a five year leap. Glad Mad Men is moving through time like that with each series. There was so much social/political change in the Sixties, everything in the office should be a lot different by 1968. And I’m looking forward to the advent of Women’s Lib for the guys to deal with, at work and at home.

   I think it is a great idea to jump ahead. They have covered the major milestones in history. Time to move to the next step.
