ITV sure know to treat their viewers, don’t they?
Having taken the plainly absurd decision to drop the second episode of Pushing Daisies in order that the series would finish in time for them to show the Euro 2008 tie between Portugal and Turkey, the broadcaster has today announced that it will be showing the missing episode from 10pm next Saturday on ITV.com.
The site says that the episode, called Dummy, will not be shown on television and that the website will be the only place where British fans will be able to see it.
Frankly, we think this is pitiful, even by ITV’s standards, and merely adds insult to injury. Surely, after all, the broadcaster could have found room amid the endless repeats of Animals Do The Funniest Things and Midsomer Murders to show it on ITV2 or ITV3 instead?
