LAST ONE The best sci-fi series on TV ends tonight in a spectacular double-bill. As Admiral Adama leads his volunteer attack force in a dangerous mission to rescue Hera, the brave team recall key moments from their time on Caprica before the Cylon holocaust. When the battle begins, the force sustains heavy casualities, despite Anders’ success at neutralizing the Cylon gun batteries. It’s then up to Kara to decipher the meaning of Hera’s drawing and rescue them.
9pm, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Five
Grissom may not be around anymore, but new kid on the block Dr Langston (Laurence Fishburne) is a welcome addition to the team as they adjust to life without Gil. But Langston’s first day doesn’t run smoothly. His first case, a simple burglary call, is interrupted by an explosion at a couple’s home nearby. At first it looks like the husband, a local gym owner, died in the blast, but tests later reveal he was murdered before the fire started. Unfortunately, Langston clashes with Hodges when he messes up the forensics at the murder scene. Not a great first impression…
10pm, Mad Men, BBC4 & BBC HD
Acquisition is in the name of the game this week when Don buys a Coupe de Ville Cadillac to show he has ‘arrived’ on Madison Avenue and Cooper causes a stir by spending a fortune on a Rothko painting. Meanwhile, Joan shows Jane who’s the boss by firing her for sneaking into Cooper’s office, but is later thrown when Roger gives Jane her job back. And there’s bad news for poor Betty during a party at the Stork Club, when Jimmy shocks her with the news that their spouses have been fooling around.
10pm, Smallville, E4
Things sort of get back to normal for our brave superheroes this week after the last few ‘big’ episodes. When our favourite martian-turned-cop John Jones is shot, Clark goes undercover as a cop transferred from Coast City to find out why. Meanwhile – in the start of a new story arc – Lana confronts Tess about her siphoning money for the ‘Prometheus’ project, asserting that Lex is alive and that Tess knows where he is. Cue a not-to-be-missed cat fight.
