8pm, Stargate Universe, Sky1 & HD
NEW SERIES The fourth TV spin-off in the popular Stargate franchise launches with a feature-length pilot in which a group of soldiers, civilians and scientists – lead by the brilliant Dr Nicholas Rush (played by Robert Carlyle) – are forced to flee through a stargate when their military base on a distant planet comes under attack. On the other side, they find on an abandoned spaceship called Destiny, billions of light years from Earth. The group must now unlock Destiny’s secrets in order to survive.

9pm, Ugly Betty, E4
It’s Fashion Week in the Big Apple and Betty has to work with an eccentric new designer. She is also forced to re-assess her opinion of fellow YETI candidate Matt, who works on a sports magazine. Meanwhile, there’s high drama on the catwalk when Christina goes into labour.

9pm, CSI: Miami, Five
Horatio clashes with defence attorney Derek Powell (guest star Sean Combs) when he becomes convinced that an innocent man has been sent to prison for the murder of a young woman, and that Powell is standing in the way of justice.

9pm, Ghost Whisperer, Living
SERIES FINALE There are plenty of spooky goings-on as the fourth series concludes with a double-bill. First up, Melinda’s wedding plans are interrupted by a vampire stalking a young woman (guest star Alexa Vega), then Melinda is haunted by dreams that threaten her child.

9pm, Chuck, Virgin1
The CIA think Chuck and Sarah are too emotionally involved, so a cold, efficient female agent called Alex Forrest (guest star Tricia Helfer) is sent in to assess, and possibly replace, Sarah as Chuck’s handler.

9pm, Warehouse 13, Sci-Fi & HD
While investigating the theft of a sculpture, Myka and Pete find the trail leads to a sacred Indian cave. Let hope they’re not too scared of the dark.
