Criminal Intent, series 6

9pm, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Hallmark
NEW SERIES The team are back every night this week, and the first instalment is particularly gripping as Eames is kidnapped while she and Goren are investigating a double murder. Goren is sidetracked by his former mentor who tries to convince him the deaths are the work of a serial killer they never managed to catch, but as the case progresses it seems more and more likely things are much more complicated than that.

9pm, One Tree Hill, E4
After all last week’s drama with Lindsey jilting Lucas at the altar and Jamie being kidnapped, this episode is a bit slower as everyone takes a breather and takes stock of their lives. Nathan and Haley are having counselling together to try to repair their marriage, Lucas is doing that slightly pained look as he tries to recover from his not-so-big day, Peyton is taking steps towards a life without Lucas and Brooke has applied to adopt a baby. I think she should start with one of those electronic ones Oprah Winfrey likes to give teenage mums.

10pm, The Wire, FX
The police, press and politicians have all fallen hook, line and sinker or McNulty’s fabricated serial killer case and even Jimmy himself is beginning to wonder if he might have gone a bit too far. Meanwhile, across town, Senator Davis gets his day in court. Keep an eye out in the scene at the cop bar for detective Munch, played by Richard Belzer. Belzer is trying to set a record for appearing in different shows as the same character, and has so far been in: Homicide, Law and Order; Law & Order: SVU; Law and Order: Trial by Jury; The Beat; Arrested Development; and The X-Files. Well it certainly beats sitting in a bathtub with rattlesnakes or standing on one foot for 77 hours.
