8pm, CSI, Five US
It’s an oldie but a goodie, as the team limber up for the annual Law Enforcement relay race (presumably this is the day when criminals schedule their biggest crimes). Worth watching for a truly classic Jerry Bruckheimer opening scene and some great Catherine/Grissom moments. Apparently the premise is based on a real-life yearly race called the Challenge Cup Relay, aka Baker-to-Vegas.

9pm, One Tree Hill, E4
Marriage wrecker Carrie reveals how scheming she really is, and dozy Nathan inadvertently adds the finishing touches to her plan with his inept ways. The man has the emotional intelligence of a brick. Thankfully the debacle means we get a break from the Lindsey/Lucas/Peyton love triangle… And Brooke drags Owen off to New York but the shock appearance of an old friend means they don’t get much time to do the usual touristy things.

10pm, The Wire, FX
With Omar bent on revenge, Proposition Joe decides it’s time he made himself scarce. Meanwhile, McNulty and Freamon hit upon a cunning new way to draw more attention to their fabricated serial killer case. Keep your eyes peeled for Marlo’s choice of tee-shirt in this episode – a natty little number from actor Jamie Hector’s own Royal Addiction clothing brand. I suppose now the series is coming to an end he’s got to think of his future…
