Pick of the Day | Monday 26 January

 90210 GROUP SHOT

9pm, 90210, E4
NEW SERIES Just what January needs – a shiny, happy teen drama full of sun, sex and slanging matches – though we’d have settled for reruns of the original 1990s show. It might have triggered some new teenage crazes like floral print dresses, big boxy blazers  and cowboy boots. Come to think of it that might not be such a good idea… There’s a new family from Kansas arriving in the neighbourhood, and teenagers Annie and adopted brother Dixon are going to have a lot of adjusting to do to fit in with the sexy, spoilt and party-mad locals. Didn’t Meg in Aaron Spelling’s daft soap Sunset Beach originally hail from Kansas too? What’s with the mass exodus?

9pm, 24, Sky1
The double bills have come to an end, but Jack still manages to fit in quite a lot in an hour, revealing a fairly impressive ability to recall key facts from his year 12 chemistry lessons and some extreme stoicism in the face of name-calling from Agent Walker. I have to say though, if he and Tony keep exchanging looks like this, Emerson’s going to jump to very different conclusions about the nature of their relationship. Back in Washington DC, slightly irritating First Gentleman Henry’s efforts to get to the bottom of his son’s death take a shocking turn.

9pm, Eli Stone, Sci-Fi
The stress levels at the firm are higher than ever – Eli has taken on a high-profile case against a lead paint manufacturer, and Jordan is beginning to wonder if anyone at his firm is competent enough to defend him against charges of insanity. On top of all that, Eli is having visions about going to the Supreme Court. I’m not sure that counts as a spooky inexplicable vision – it sounds like the sort of thing every young lawyer dreams of achieving one day. Keep an eye out for Eli’s client Joanna – the actress is Gwendoline Yeo, and she has previously appeared in 24, Desperate Housewives and Chuck.

10pm, Lipstick Jungle, Living
Nico is enjoying playing mum and seems to be convinced she’ll be allowed to keep baby Charlie. What universe is that woman living in? She obviously spends too much time in an office, and not enough time watching Oprah. Unsurprisingly,  Kirby is fairly non-plussed with the whole instant fatherhood thing – for once the boy is showing some common sense. He’ll not last long in this show. Wendy’s miffed when an arrogant movie producer tries to steal her latest project, and Victory is determined to land a contract with a millionaire.
