After all last week’s shenanigans we find out what really happened to bring about the shock proposal, but Haley is less than convinced by Lucas’s commitment after witnessing that big smooch. Meanwhile Brook resorts to shock tactics with dishy barman Owen, and Carrie’s latest antics leave Nathan dumbstruck (not awfully hard with Nathan, frankly… his brain seems to work at the speed of a woolly mammoth that hasn’t quite thawed out).
10pm, The Wire, FX
Prepare yourselves – tonight’s edition is going to be a stonker, as Marlo gears up for war with every other dealer in the city, McNulty hits a new low tampering with crime scenes and evidence to get the Stanfield investigation back on everyone’s radar, and someone at the newspaper develops a novel approach to journalism. After our Jim’s review from last week, I can’t wait to see what he makes of it all tomorrow…

NEW SERIES This show may not be on everyone’s top 10, but that doesn’t mean the beginning of series six should get tucked away this late at night. The good news is that it will be appearing at a more reasonable hour on FX’s HD channel in a few weeks’ time, but if you’re dying to find out what happened after last season’s finale, when Mann sent his machine gun-wielding cronies into the hospital, then wait no longer!
