8pm, Flash Gordon, Sci-Fi
Flash heads for the icy realm of Frigian to free an imprisoned queen, still unsure of his part in the prophecy. Meanwhile Dale thinks it’s high time the inhabitants of planet Earth knew about the existence of Mongo and decides the medium of telly is the best way of spreading the news. I’d have thought the National Enquirer would be a more likely choice.
9pm, Ally McBeal, Zone Romantica
It’s an oldie but a goodie, as Jenny, Ally and Glenn have their first run-in with purple-haired plaintiff Claire Otoms, played by Dame Edna Everage (the first in a string of appearances in season five which reruns tonight from 8pm) and Ling is offered her own Judge Judy-style TV show. The acerbic Ling’s an obvious choice for the position, but frankly she’s no match for a woman who could write a book called Don’t Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It’s Raining.
9pm, One Tree Hill, E4
Oh dear, five episodes in and we’re already in flashback territory. We’ll make an allowance this time, as it fills in all the gaps on the 4 ‘missing years’ of the show’s narrative, including what really happened between Lucas and Peyton and how Lucas landed the head coach job.
