9pm, ER, More4
You’ll need to have your hankies at the ready again, another regular is departing the show. It’s Abby’s first day as an attending, and her last at County General but, while most people just mooch around on their last day trying to avoid doing any real work, she manages to fit in a face-off with new ER Chief Banfield over how to treat a gunshot victim and a strongly worded speech at Sam’s disciplinary board hearing. I hope she’s not just leaving after misunderstanding the cheers from the sidelines of ‘Go Abby, go!’
10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
NEW SERIES It won’t really feel like a new series since the last one just finished, but it is. Guest stars to look forward to in this run include Eric Stoltz as an infuriating serial killer in need of medical attention, but that’s a few weeks away. This week sees the arrival of Rome/Journeyman star Kevin McKidd as bolshy army doc Owen, the sort of man who performs emergency procedures with biros and staplers (and he doesn’t even work in the stationery department of the army). If that doesn’t make you think twice about dialling 999 for a minor ailment, nothing will.
10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
Talking of army medics, Justin’s struggling. If he watched Grey’s, he might have considered striding into the local A&E armed with a pencil case and a flask of vodka, wowing all the ladies and finding a new career for himself. Instead, he’s told to report for duty at the army draft office, and ends up having an extremely awkward meeting with a former colleague who is keen to celebrate his heroism. Back at Walker central, Saul and Sarah finally snap after Holly’s latest bout of scheming, and Kevin finds himself gingerly stepping back into the closet to placate a wealthy client.
