An aspiring singer (former American Idol contestant Ace Young to the more eagle-eyed viewers) meets with a grisly end, but at least it means we get to see Emily Deschanel step up to the karaoke mike. There’s been lots of talk about the shocker in store for next week’s series finale, but tonight’s ending is an equally wtf moment…

SERIES FINALE The season has been limping along, but the finale pulls out all the stops, with guest star Steve Buscemi appearing as a drunk on the witness protection programme whose presence puts all the staff at risk, with a suitably breathtaking cliffhanger to get you ready for the next (and last ever) series.
10.30, Heroes, BBC3
HRG heads to the Ukraine (cue some very bad backdrop effects) to track down Isaac’s prophetic paintings, and takes the Haitian with him for back-up. Back home, Claire and West come up with a cruel plan to get herself on the cheerleading squad, and we get a few references to a chap called Adam Monroe who strikes fear into the hearts of Bob and his Company compadres. Things are picking up nicely.
