Once the team have tracked down the rest of the body, they realise the man was killed by a dog – or as Brennan concludes: ‘The murderer was a human being, the murder weapon was a dog.’ Meanwhile, as they’re chasing their tales trying to find the owner and the offending pooch, Hodgins is causing offence back at the lab.

The team re-opens the case of a young inner-city school teacher whose death was originally assumed to be a car-jacking that had gone wrong. Their investigation is hampered by hostility from the rest of the teaching staff, but the pupils prove more helpful, leading to a shocking discovery about the woman’s demise.
