NEW SERIES There’s no point in beating about the bush – at the moment, Wednesday nights are nights for catching up on what you’ve stored in your Sky+. Patrick Swayze may be about to change that though, with this tough new crime drama on the newly named Five USA (you’ve got to wonder what associations people were making with the old channel name, Five US, that prompted them to change it…)
Swayze plays hard-edged FBI veteran Charles Barker, assigned to train rookie Ellis Dove (chisel-jawed Travis Fimmel) in covert work. What he doesn’t realise is Dove is something of a double agent, working on behalf of Internal Affairs to investigate Barker’s questionable methods. Swayze was diagnosed with cancer just before they started making the series, but you’d never know it when you see him in action.
