The WURG staff go out for a team meal, but the evening takes an unexpected turn when a dashing young anchor from another TV station takes a shine to Kelly and asks her out. Chuck reacts badly, claiming he thinks it’s a scheme to lure her away from the channel, but those eyes are looking suspiciously green, Chuck. Good news for Kelsey Grammer fans today though – Kelsey’s been released from hospital after his latest health scare. Not sure what ‘normal activities at home’ constitutes, mind…

After last week’s rollicking opener, things decelerate rapidly as the hostages settle back into normal life – or at least try to. I suspect this rapid change of pace is what led to viewers deserting the programme in droves in the States, but I’m going to hang in there and give it a chance. Egan’s heroics result in the media embracing him as a minor celeb, while Nick is given an ultimatum after trying to distance himself from his colleagues, and the pressure gets to be too much for Jeremy.
10.40pm, Six Degrees, ITV1
A spot of decorating leads to romance for Laura and Steven, although Steven’s general flakiness makes him wary of the commitment required. The premises they’re painting is for Ray’s new corporate headquarters, part of his grand fromage scheme which includes Whitney’s company. What is he up to really?
