This weekend’s big US dramas

Pushing Daisies, Series Two, Dim Some Lose Some

Fri, 9pm, NCIS, Five
An admiral is killed in a drive-by shooting, but it turns out the target was actually his taxi driver, and he’s got quite the back-story going on.

Fri, 10pm, Pushing Daisies, ITV1
The gang go undercover in a Chinese restaurant to investigate the murder of a chef, but those costumes make my local Chinese joint’s weekly Elvis night look tame by comparison.

Fri, 10pm, Boston Legal, Living
Jerry gets into one of his states when his sister hints that her son may be related to his new girlfriend, and Shirley asks Alan to represent a man whose brother died due to hospital negligence.

Fri, 10pm, Numb3rs, Five
A train collides with a lorry carrying hazardous material. Nikki’s tasked with finding out what caused it, while the rest of the agents try to save six people stuck beneath the tanker.

Sat, 9pm, CSI: NY, Five
A man’s body is found in a vacant lot, but the crime scene is actually a house that’s in transit on a boat. I imagine there was a lot of back-slapping going on at the writers’ meeting about that bit of ingenuity.

Sun, 9pm, Lost, Sky1
We finally get to find out what Locke was doing for the past 3 years off the island (not that he’s been gone that long in island time, of course… If you’re not keeping up, we suggest you reset that large pendulum device in your drawing room.

Sun, 9pm, Supernatural, ITV2
Halloween’s a-coming, and the brothers find themselves up against Castiel and ‘specialist’ angel Uriel, who are scheming to destroy a town to prevent one of the 66 Seals being opened.

Sun, 10pm, Generation Kill, FX
Captain America gets carried away dealing with a prisoner, but the First Recon men are touched by the humanity of the Iraqi people as they escort civilians fleeing from Baghdad down the highway
