Fri, 9.30pm, Little Britain USA, BBC1
NEW SERIES Walliams and Lucas unleash their off-the-wall humour on the poor, unsuspecting American public with a host of new characters like bitter astronaut Bing Gordyn and foul-mouthed wannabe child star Ellie-Grace as well as old favourites like Marjorie Dawes and Emily Howard. We’ve had loads of clips on the site already, take a look if you missed them…
Sun, 9pm, Fringe, Sky1
NEW SERIES JJ Abrams’ latest creation has had mixed reviews, but we’ve seen a couple of episodes here at TV Spy and so far we can’t get enough of it. The opening scene may bear a strong resemblance to Lost, with its commercial flight struck by a mysterious force, but that’s because Abrams is a bit obsessed with planes, and the similarities end there, with the show taking a much more X-Files path.
Sun, 9pm, Burn Notice, FX
NEW SERIES It’s all happening this weekend, isn’t it! If you want something a bit lighter than JJ Abrams, this might do the trick. It’s a spy drama, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Jeffrey Donovan stars as a CIA agent whose services are no longer required, so he moves back to his hometown of Miami and starts working as a PI, ably assisted by Gabrielle Anwar and Bruce Campbell. Here’s what fan (and vodcaster!) Gareth has to say about it.
Sun, 10pm, Desperate Housewives, E4
Lynette gets a visit from the child protection services, which brings an even bigger smirk than usual to the face of devil child Kayla. Meanwhile Gabby helps the police bug her new tenant, and Bree and Katherine get in some target practice. Just as well those two are pals now, considering what a sharp shooter Katherine turns out to be. This episode was shown as the first of a two-part season finale in the US, but there’s no need here as we’ll be moving straight into the new series after next week.
Sun, 10pm, Breaking Bad, FX
Walter and Jesse’s newly formed partnership is under strain as they try to work out what to do with drug dealers Emilio and Krazy-8 – and I don’t think the main debate is whether or not to add them to their Christmas card list. It’s just as well this show’s on late at night – you’ll have had plenty of time to digest your dinner before the gruesome bit…
