Fri, 9pm, NCIS, Five
This series was shown on FX last year but you may have missed it, or you may just fancy reliving the high drama of the series opener, with the mission to capture La Grenoiulle ending ina major explosion involving Tony. NCIS is one of those shows that often slips under the radar, but its extremely loyal fanbase will tell you there’s something strangely addictive about it.
Fri, 10pm, Numb3rs, Five
NEW SERIES The mathematical crime drama moves to its new home of Five after a great deal of shuffling around. Lou Diamond Phillips makes a welcome return as Agent Edgerton, and the team have a new member, FBI agent Nikki, helping them with a case involving the deaths of two extreme-sports enthusiasts which are somehow connected to a major jewel heist in LA. If you’re feeling like a genius, you might like to attempt the show’s weekly maths puzzle (and then tell us how to do it!)
Sat, 9.25pm, CSI: NY, Five
NEW SERIES Hurrah, we can all stop watching the endless repeats at last, series five is here, and we finally find out what happened to Mac after his kidnap. The steely leader turns up in a sinking car in a Jersey City harbour, but there’s no time to ask him whether his life flashed before his eyes or if he found himself swimming towards a bright light – the team still have to track down his abductor. Their search takes a surprising turn when Flack’s sister, Samantha, is implicated.
Sun, 7pm, The Simpsons, Sky1
NEW EPISODE Lisa becomes enthralled by her new ‘mypod’ and ends up working for Steve Mobs. Meanwhile Bart befriends a boy called Bashir who comes from a Muslim family, and of course Homer jumps to all sorts of conclusions and becomes convinced Bashir’s father is planning to bomb the Springfield Mall. Look out for the TV show playing in Moe’s tavern, which looks suspiciously like the terrorist-busting 24.
