Friday, 9.00, Criminal Minds, Living
The team’s been coping admirably since Gideon’s shock departure, but it gets a much-needed boost in the shape of screen veteran Joe Mantegna, playing a former special agent who comes out of retirement to join the BAU and raises everyone’s heckles with his maverick ways.

Friday, 10.00, Shark, Five
Fans of the BBC drama Mistresses will recognise a familiar face in tonight’s episode – Orla Brady guest-stars as Shark’s ex-wife Claire, back to cause a stir. The main story revolves round Jessica though, and a friendship with a medical examiner that lands her in hot water.

NEW SERIES Zooey Deschanel heads the cast as a modern-day Dorothy Gale in an intriguing new working of The Wizard of Oz, relocated to a bleak realm where a tyrant rules with dark magic and military might.

Richard Chamberlain, no stranger to the world of melodrama, turns up as Lynett’s stepdad Glen, complete with a revelation that’s guaranteed to cause major ructions in his family’s life.

Talking of revelations, Saul finally comes clean to Nora about being gay, and that’s just the first of several big newsflashes for the Walker clan.
