Win the original Dark Shadows TV series on DVD

From 1966 to 1971, the US daytime drama Dark Shadows thrilled viewers with its unique blend of gothic romance and supernatural horror, and became a huge phenomenon with the introduction of vulnerable vampire Barnabas Collins, a role made famous by the Canadian actor Jonathan Frid, who sadly died earlier this month.

With Johnny Depp pulling on Barnabas’ cape in Tim Burton’s comic re-imagining in May, a three-disc collection featuring the iconic vampire is being released on Monday 30 April.

We have one box-set for you to win. Just tell us which supernatural being you would be if you were visiting Collinwood – vampire, ghost or werewolf – and why. The best answer wins!

You can either leave your comment here (click here if you don’t see the comments box) or e-mail us at tvspy@ipcmedia.com, with Dark Shadows in the subject line. Competition closes 5pm Monday 7 May. Terms and Conditions apply. Happy haunting – and do feel free to share this post with your friends!

EDIT: This competition is now closed. Winners will be notified by e-mail.

  2. john tooth says:

Got to be a ghost i wouldn’t be a nasty one just one that keeps moving your things around when you need them, then put them back in a month or two, i’m sure we have one in our house!

  3. AMANDA HOUGHTON says:

    i would be a vampire

WEREWOLF – REMEMBER DON’T CROSS THE MOORS STAY ON THE ROAD

  5. Susan Law says:

I would be a vampire. Just imagine living forever and sucking on people’s necks to eat yum yum.

  6. Gaz Mills says:

I would like to be a werewolf, super human speed and strength and all of my hair back!!

  7. Graeme says:

    A werewolf – then I wouldn’t need to shave.

  8. JOANNE LOUISE SAUNDERS says:

Id be a ghost because nobody could see me and i can spook everyone lol

  9. Sarah Wray says:

I would be a werewolf – I could be normal most of the time, but go wild occasionally (and have lovely sillky hair – all over) Hooooooooow cool would that be?

  10. Barrie Phillips says:

I would have to be a vampire because you have the ability to turn someone else into a vampire or kill them by sucking all their blood, you get all the girls, sleeping in a coffin sounds pretty cool, you’re immortal as long as you avoid all those wooden stakes through the heart, etc.Plus you get dress in black all the time which is never a bad thing.

  11. Helen Greenwood says:

A Vampire. Not the sparkly Twilight kind tho, more like Pam from True Blood. That’d mix things up! :)

  12. Shelley Jessup says:

A ghost so I could listen without people knowing I was there & see the true person they are. If they needed help & was just putting on an act to others, I could try and help them in a ghostly kind of way.

  13. SHARON HOLGATE says:

I would like to be a Ghost and Spy on all the Hotties Bums an all and play Naughtie Mischiefious pranks on them :-)

  14. Patricia Randall says:

I would like to be vampire, because you can mess with everybody and only comes out at night. I am a night person anyway.

  15. Alison says:

I would be a ghost as every mansion needs a ghost!! All those floorboard to creep up and down!

  16. I would want to be a werewolf because you can be yourself for almost a whole month and then be someone else during the full moon. The only bad things about being a werewolf would be destroying your clothes once a month and of course the fleas. If you fed up real good before the change of the moon you wouldn’t have to bite anyone unless you really wanted to.

  17. I would want to be a werewolf!
